STOP Losing The Leadership Battle! To

being m
eaningful, effective, true leaders?
After, over four decades of involvement, in nearly, every aspect of leading, from identifying, and qualifying, to training, developing and consulting, to thousands of actual, and/ or, potential leaders, I have come to realize, effectively, leading, means, often, being confronted by numerous obstacles, and, often, the difference between the most successful ones, and the rest - of - the - pack, is, while the former perceive these, as challenges to overcome, the others, become negatively - impacted, by letting their fears, and self - doubts, make them, consider, things, as being problematic, and, even, debilitating! If one wants to STOP losing the leadership battle, he must be ready, willing, and able, to focus on ways to get things done, rather than, why they are problems! With that in mind, this article will attempt to, briefly, consider, examine, review, and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, what this means and represents, and why it matters.
1. Service (not self - service);
strengths/ stronger; solutions; sustainable; system: Only, when one considers, service to others, as the major responsibility of a leader, can he become one! Unfortunately, too often, some individuals prioritize self - service, and their personal agenda/ self - interest, over the common good! Great leaders identify his group's strengths, as well as weaknesses, using the areas of strength, to make them stronger, while addressing areas of weakness! It is important to perceive and conceive of, create, develop, and implement the finest system, seeking to put - into - place, meaningful, relevant, sustainable solutions, instead of resorting to procrastination!
(earn it); time - tested; timely: A real leader earns the trust of his stakeholders, by clearly, demonstrating, he is not only capable, but puts those he serves, and represents, first! They prepare, and study, so they understand time - tested techniques, and concepts, which will help make the organization, stronger, and better! There is no place for procrastination, but, have the inner strength, and fortitude, to proceed, with well - considered, timely action!
3. Open - minded; options; opportunities;
organized; opt: Great leaders must be open - minded, and consider, thoroughly, many options, and alternatives, and opt for the best path, forward! They identify, and seize - upon the best opportunities, in an organized, meaningful, valuable way!
4. Priorities; planning; phases; process;
presentation: Leaders and stakeholders must possess shared priorities, if one wishes to inspire and motivate others, to follow! His presentation must demonstrate valuable, well - considered, planning, implemented in phases, along the way, so the process, creates the best path, towards achievement!
If you want to be a real leader, STOP blaming and complaining, assume personal responsibility, demand your utmost degree of personal excellence, and win, instead of lose, the leadership battle!
